Research first
Before we film, we study the subject: published material, records and archives, the people involved and the experts worth hearing from. We check facts and plan the interviews so the film is accurate and the story holds together.
That research becomes a treatment and a script, which give the documentary its direction, structure and voice.
The same approach runs through our own documentaries and expert conversations.
Where it will be seen
Running time, language versions, subtitles and channel or festival delivery specifications are agreed at the start of the project.
How it works
We understand the subject, audience, platform, running time, budget and deadline, and any approvals the film will need.
We research the subject, identify the people and places, and write a treatment that sets out the story and visual approach.
We develop the script or narrative outline, prepare interview questions and plan locations, permissions and the shoot schedule.
We film interviews and locations with the right crew, capture the visuals the story needs and keep to the agreed schedule.
We edit picture and sound, add narration, graphics and subtitles, share cuts for agreed review rounds and deliver to specification.
International organisations
We welcome documentary briefs from international broadcasters, NGOs, foundations and companies who need a research and production team in India.
Briefing, treatment and script reviews and edit feedback can be handled remotely. Filming plans, review milestones and delivery formats are agreed before work begins. How we work with international teams →
