The Indian Vegetable Oil Producers’ Association (IVPA), originally established in 1974 as the “Northern India Vanaspati Manufacturers’ Association,” evolved in 1977 to become the Indian Vanaspati Producers’ Association (IVPA), reflecting its national presence. Officially registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956, in 1979, IVPA has since been recognized as the credible and unified voice of India’s edible oils and oilseeds industry.
From its inception, IVPA has been dedicated to advocating for the interests of stakeholders across the entire value chain—from production to processing and distribution. With a rich legacy of promoting sustainability, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation, IVPA continues to champion the growth of the sector while ensuring the availability of safe and nutritious edible oil products for India’s growing population.
In 2019, IVPA embraced a transformative milestone by rebranding itself as the Indian Vegetable Oil Producers’ Association. This shift underscored its commitment to inclusivity, aligning its mission with the diverse needs of its members and addressing the dynamic challenges in the edible oils and oilseeds sector. Today, IVPA remains steadfast in its vision to strengthen India’s position in the global oils and fats industry.
